I will work within your time and financial needs, as well as inform you of what isn't possible in the early stages.
Your Interior Designer
Nicola Jane Callaghan is the creative director at Nicola Jane Interiors. She defines her style a blend of “rustically vintage” with “current era functionality”.
Originally from England Nicola started her journey in to Interior Design restoring traditional vintage pieces for her own home. This love for all things design led her to courses in upholstery and creating custom furniture. Her natural flare for taking a once loved item and reinventing it drew the attention of her clients requesting her to help them redesign their homes.
Nicola’s ability to connect with clients and interpret their vision in to a complete design is at the heart of Nicola Jane Interiors. She sees herself as a listener, translator of ideas and a story teller. “A home is the stage where memories are made”. Being involved in that process is Nicola’s greatest passion.

Can you work to my budget and timescales?
What is your style? In my own home I love to incorporate vintage and rustic pieces against more modern elements but when it comes to clients projects I don't have a specific style, I just know what I like and what will work when I see it. I may tailor a room around an old piece of furniture or update that old sofa with a fresh modern pattern. I get excited listening to clients wants and needs then add my design input turning their dream into reality.
Why choose an interior designer?
Many of my clients see photos of what they want but don’t know exactly how to make it happen. Others simply want direction and guidance or new ideas that they may never have thought of. I am a very creative person, have a vision for design and a real passion for interiors but I accept it is not everyone’s passion. Some people just want a look, want it now and want to live in it. In addition I have relationships with a number of experienced trades who I know work to a very high standard and have worked with before. I can bring these trades together and project manage them so it all comes together at the right time so you don’t have to.
Why should I pay for a designer when some retail and builder supply stores offer “free design assiNothing is ever free! Their fee’s are incorporated in to the goods that you are buying from their store. But this isn’t the real problem. What you need to consider is that these ‘free’ services are only ever going to offer you the products from their store so if you happen to love window treatments from store A, a sofa from Store B and then have a number of personal effects that need repainting or restoring those ‘free’ designers are not going to be able to pull all of that together in a cohesive way and then manage the project for you.
What should I do for our first meeting for my project?Bring along any magazine pictures, photos, fabric samples that you love or want to recreate. This will give me something to work from. Think about what colors, styles and furniture you like so we can discuss and incorporate in to the design. Be prepared to take about what you want to accomplish, how you intend to use the space, your lifestyle needs. We will then discuss time frames and budgets.
